How much does BosonMail cost?+
Every inbox costs KSh 100 per month on the yearly plan (KSh 1,200 billed once a year) or KSh 150 per month on the monthly plan. All prices are before VAT. Each inbox includes 5GB of mailbox storage, 500 outbound emails per month, and unlimited inbound email.
What is the difference between the yearly and monthly plans?+
Only how you pay. Both plans include exactly the same inbox. The yearly plan costs KSh 100 per inbox per month and is billed once a year, saving you KSh 600 per inbox every year. The monthly plan costs KSh 150 per inbox per month and is billed month to month.
What is included with every inbox?+
Every inbox includes 5GB of mailbox storage, 500 outbound emails per month, and unlimited inbound email. There is no separate pricing tier for additional inboxes.
Do I need to install or maintain anything?+
No. BosonMail is a managed service. We run the email infrastructure, and you and your team just use your inboxes.
Are emails between people in the same business account charged?+
No. Emails sent between inboxes belonging to the same BosonMail business account are free and unlimited, and they do not use your outbound allowance.
What happens if I need to send more than 500 emails?+
You can purchase additional outbound email credits at KSh 150 per 1,000 emails. These credits are valid for 90 days. For inboxes with consistently higher sending volumes, you can also raise the inbox's monthly outbound allowance.
Can I upgrade an inbox to a higher outbound volume?+
Yes. An inbox can be upgraded to a higher monthly outbound volume when you regularly send more than the included 500 emails, for example 2,000 emails per month. Additional recurring capacity is KSh 100 per 1,000 emails per month, which is cheaper than repeatedly buying one-off credits at KSh 150 per 1,000.
Do email credits expire?+
Yes. Purchased outbound email credits are valid for 90 days.
Is inbound email unlimited?+
Yes. BosonMail does not charge based on the number of inbound emails you receive.
How much storage does each inbox get?+
Every inbox includes 5GB of mailbox storage. Additional storage starts at KSh 10 per GB/month, with rates from KSh 6 per GB/month for larger storage requirements.
Can I add more inboxes later?+
Yes. You can add as many inboxes as your business needs. Every inbox is priced the same and receives its own 5GB of storage and 500-email monthly outbound allowance.
Do I have to buy a bigger plan as my business grows?+
No. BosonMail does not require you to move to a higher plan. Add inboxes, storage, or outbound capacity according to your business's actual needs.
Are the prices inclusive of VAT?+
No. Every price on this page is before VAT. VAT is added to your invoice.
How do I pay?+
We send you an invoice and you pay through M-PESA. Your inboxes are activated once the payment is verified.
